Disha first joined CJLS as a Senior Research Associate and then went on to work as the Assistant Director of the Centre for 3 years. Disha was also teaching fellow from 2021-2023 and a Clinical Assistant Professor (2023-2024) with the Law & Marginalisation Clinic where she assisted with and co-taught courses on Trans Justice & the Law & Reproductive Justice.

During her time at CJLS, Disha had the opportunity to contribute to several initiatives and interventions made by CJLS, ranging from legilstiave intervetions, research and advocacy and capacity building endevaours to legal literacy workshops, collaborative knowledge production, funding proposals and student mentorship programs. AT CJLS, Disha also found the space to develop her own reserach and writing by particpating in academic conferences and workshops on Clinical Legal Education and Decolonial Approaches to Justice Education. In her capacity as the Assistant Director, Disha worked closely with Professor Jain and the Core Team on building a team that takes further the vision and goals of the Centre.

Disha graduated with a B.A in Political Science from Lady Sriram College before pursuing law at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. She then received an L.L.M from Harvard Law School in 2020. Disha is interested in research and writing on gender and sexuality, postcolonial feminism, transgender rights,  reproductive justice, queer feminist theory, critical legal theory, law and political economy and constitutional law. 

She is currently working as a Senior Research Associate with the Centre for Law & Policy Reserach at Bangalore.
