Kanmani R is a transgender woman & lawyer from Delhi. She was working as a Research Associate at CJLS. She completed her LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi in 2021. Her pronouns are she/her.

She obtained her B. A. (Hons.) Political Science from Amity University, Noida in 2016 and a Masters in Public Administration from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi in 2018.

During her time at CJLS, She was of a team on the Right to Information (RTI) Project on Transgender Persons' Right to Higher Education in India. She has in the past worked on the Right to Health & Healthcare Bill and the Anti-Carceral Politics Webinar Series.

She is interested in the issues of health, access to education, public transport & housing in the context of gender & sexual minorities.

Kanmani is currently practising as an Advocate in the courts of Chennai.
