Kimberly Rhoten worked with CJLS in 2014 as a Research Fellow and Assistant Director. Currently, Mx. Rhoten is completing their PhD in Sociology at Boston University, where their current research interests include: the legal institution’s treatment of non-normative families, the qualitative impact of pretrial detention, and prison conditions litigation. They are a founding member of the Polyamory Legal Advocacy Coalition (PLAC) and served as Co-Chair of Legal Issues for the American Psychological Association’s Division 44 Committee on Consensual Non-Monogamy. Mx. Rhoten currently serves as pro-bono counsel for low-income tenants in housing disputes for Chicago’s Pro-Bono Network.
