Ataliya Kalam (She/Her)

Research Fellow, Centre for Justice, Law and Society

Ataliya Kalam is a Clinical Legal Aid Lawyer at Jindal Global Law School and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Justice, Law and Society. She holds a BA LLB from the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL). Her work focuses on advancing equity, accessibility, and empowerment for marginalized communities.

As a law student, she engaged with the Migration and Asylum Project and the Zenith Society for Socio-Legal Empowerment, advocating for the rights of refugees and migrant workers. Additionally, as a research intern at the Grievances and Strategic Litigation vertical at Mission Accessibility, she contributed by addressing systemic barriers faced by persons with disabilities. Her work with marginalized communities and commitment to fighting systemic injustices have strengthened her dedication to human rights law and advocacy.

Being part of the Centre for Justice, Law and Society (CJLS) is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful change through both research and advocacy. CJLS’ interdisciplinary approach, particularly in advancing sexual and gender minority rights and reproductive justice, makes it a dynamic space for impactful work. Working with CJLS, I aim to critically engage with the law, improving access to justice for marginalized communities.
