Ramani is a first-generation graduate who pursued her B. A. in Journalism from Madras Christian College, Chennai and LL.B from the Faculty of Law, Delhi University. They identify themself as a gender-fluid person and goes by She/They/He.

As a Research and Communications Associate, they curated and managed social media content and handles and led a digital campaign on the ASHA Workers - #ASHAkiAwaaz. They were also involved in other projects, including the Anti-caste Jurisprudence Project, which primarily looks at the interpretation and implementation of the Prevention of Atrocities Act by the higher judiciary. Before joining CJLS, she worked with several media organisations in varied roles as a journalist, student reporter and intern. Her primary field of interests are State violence, Genocidal studies, International Humanitarian and Refugee law, etc. She is equally intrigued by anti-discrimination and marginalisation, critical legal theory, and environmentalism. 

Apart from law, she keeps herself occupied by her wide range of interests in arts, varying from literature to stand-up comedy.
