Vrishti Shami (She/Her)

Research Associate, Centre for Justice, Law and Society

Vrishti Shami is a Research Associate at CJLS. Vrishti graduated from Jindal Global Law School in 2022. Prior to joining CJLS, Vrishti worked with the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation where she led advocacy initiatives and policy interventions on poverty alleviation, gender violence, and caste equality. As a law student, Vrishti was an intern and a research assistant at CJLS and worked on matters of sexual health, reproductive rights, and marginalisation. Her primary interest lies in studying the intersections of gender and caste.

CJLS aims to bridge the gap between academia and activism, making it an inclusive and exciting space. I greatly admire CJLS’ focus on being cognizant of our location and privilege in all our work. I look forward to building awareness on casteism and intersectionality through my advocacy efforts at the centre.
